Privacy Policy

Last updated

Distinkt Ventures Inc. (“Distinkt”, “we”, “us”) operates distinkt.io (the “Site”). This policy explains what personal information we collect through the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Site only. Our operating companies, including Distinkt Studios, Black Sector, PetPass and Distinkt Motoring, are responsible for their own privacy practices and, where they offer products or services, their own privacy policies.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use the contact section you may provide your name, email address, organisation, the briefing type and company you select and the content of your message. Providing this information is voluntary.

Technical information. Like most websites, the Site and the services that deliver it record basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring pages, pages requested and timestamps. This data is used for security, capacity planning and to keep the Site working reliably.

Cookies. The Site does not set marketing or advertising cookies. Our content delivery and security provider may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the Site from abuse.

How we use information

  • To respond to enquiries and route them to the right company or team.
  • To operate, secure, monitor and improve the Site.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We rely on your consent, which you give by submitting an enquiry. Your consent to the collection of basic technical data is implied by your use of the Site. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

Sharing

We share personal information only with service providers that help us operate the Site and handle correspondence, such as hosting, content delivery, security and email providers, and with companies within the Distinkt group where that is necessary to answer your enquiry. Providers act on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, property or safety.

International transfers

Our service providers may process information outside the country where you live, including in the United States. Where that happens, the information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We select providers that maintain appropriate safeguards.

Retention

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping. Technical logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted or anonymised.

Security

The Site is served over HTTPS and protected by a content delivery and security network. We apply reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, or to ask a question about this policy, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You also have the right to complain to the privacy regulator in your jurisdiction, including the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

The Site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in their jurisdiction.

Third-party sites

The Site may link to websites operated by our companies or by third parties. Those sites are governed by their own policies, which we encourage you to read.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
